INTRODUCTION

WELCOME TO ZOETE INVAL BACKPACKERS

Welcome to Zoete Inval Travelers's Lodge. We are situated in the beautiful seaside town of Hermanus South Africa, just 1.5 hours along the coast from Cape Town. Hermanus is considered a destination for all seasons.

SATOUR ACCREDITED & YHA APPROVED. We are centrally located and 10 minutes walk from hiking trails, shops and the seaside, is a charming Cape style lodge run by Marilyn, a Canadian National who will provide comfort, information and a homely touch for all travelers. ZOETE INVAL is at the end of the Garden Route and Hermanus is a must for all travelers on there way to and from Cape Town.

Our slogan is "Our home is your home". Come and visit our lodge and experience the relaxing homely atmosphere yourself. When you are not enjoying all Hermanus has to offer, indulge yourself in one of life's little luxuries, like curling up by a roaring fire and exploring our library. We are within easy walking distance from hiking trails, shopping centers, shops and the sea.

ON OFFER

We offer two facilities to suit your needs: Spoil yourself & choose:

The Guest House - 3 twin rooms, 2 doubles, a private suite which sleeps 4 and one 3 bedded room. In the house amenities include: two balconies with mountain or sea view, TV-VCR lounge, mini- kitchen, fireside library/lounge.

or if on a tight budget, choose:

The Loft - 8 & 6 & 4 bed dorms plus one double are served by 4 toilets and 2 showers, lounge and huge sundeck with mountain view. Both areas are served by a common reception area and coffee bar. The central courtyard has a braai area and adjacent fully equipped kitchen. We also have plenty of private, off - street parking.

WHALES AND WHALE WATCHING

Hermanus is considered the best land-based whale watching location in the world. From July to December the waters around Hermanus are home to the Southern Right Whale who come here to mate and calf.

Observe Southern Right Whales and offspring closer to shore than anywhere else in the world.

Hike Fernkloof Nature Reserve and experience the plant diversity of the world’s sixth smallest floral kingdom.
Take a horseback ride, beachcomb or sunbathe on miles of pristine beach.
Go waterbird watching, sailing, and fishing at the tranquil Klein River Lagoon.
Explore tidal pools, snorkel amongst forests of sea bamboo and collect mussels, abalone and crayfish for a mouthwatering seafood delight.

We have a wide selection of local tours and activities to choose from.In addition, we have compiled an extensive collection of self-guided tours with maps for those renting cars. We have lots of information and experience of what to do and see in the Overberg area as well as Garden Route, Karoo and up the West Coast and Cedarberg. TRANSPORTATION
Direct door to door transfer from Cape Town OR transfer from the Baz Bus costs R30. If you'd like a ride on the bus, let us know.

Ask for information about bicycles, paddle skis, tubes, kayak and canoe.
