INTRODUCTION

You will find us on a farm like setting, only 6km from God's Window and 10 km from Graskop. The Berlin and Lisbon Waterfalls are within walking distance from the front door of the tavern. We are the last stop to Bourkes Luck potholes and the Blyde River Canyon. Below the property are crystal clear mountainpools of water for swimming and relaxing.

Your host Louis Wentzell takes pride in personally welcoming his guests to his home.

Dine in our Dining Room
The Dining room is colorful and vibrant. The walls have been hand painted and the room has been traditionally decorated with old Victorian art. An Adam fireplace adds to completing the ambiance of the room. Dinners are served by candle light enhanced by strains of light classical music in the background. Full farmhouse breakfasts are jolly occasions served either in the dining room or on the verandah.

Visit our Bar
Our bar where relaxing drinks can be enjoyed after a long days exploration of the Lowveld.

Relax in our Lounge
Beautifully decorated in a rich Victorian red, this lounge acts as a perfect setting to enjoy intimate conversation and drinks around the fireplace.

Soak in the warm atmosphere as you lounge about at your leisure. Join in the laughter with other guests while sipping on your aperitif after dinner and before retiring to your room.

Rest in our Bedrooms
Our accommodation consists of five warmly decorated en-suite bedrooms each with its own private verandah and comfortably furnished in the same Victorian style.

Each room is unique in the way it has been hand painted and decorated to add a sense of true individualism. Experience the relaxing peace and tranquility.

Single, Double, Family and the Executive/Honeymoon suites are available with showers or baths. After a good nights rest, our full farmhouse breakfast is something to look forward to.

Garden Tour
This is our Goldfish pond, which is teeming with wildlife and makes a beautiful setting to relax and enjoy a cup of afternoon tea or a drink.

Our Main entrance is a lush of colorful vegetation which becomes a fairyland in the Spring and the Summer seasons.

Wandering round the garden, you will find numerous little retreats and picnic spots and you may even find the odd statue.

The garden is not to be missed as all the plants thrive in the tropical environment.

Have lunch out in the warm sun surrounded by beautiful ferns and trees.

Admire some of the indigenous plants and trees as you enjoy a stroll around the garden.

The Berlyn Peacock Tavern is well worth a visit if you are passing through or even better, come and spend a night for an unforgetable experience.

ADDITIONAL INFO

Activities:
There are numerous beautiful sights to be seen and many places to be explored. Shown below are the sight seeing attractions in our immediate vicinity of which many are found within walking distance of the farm. Surrounded by lush forests, crystal clear pools and mountain streams.

Visit the Berlin Waterfalls which are situated only 500 meters walking or driving distance from the farm. Slightly further away are the Lisbon Falls.

You have heard about it, now come and see it. This is the famous God's Window. Standing on top of the world on a clear day you can see forever. These are the most spectacular views of the Lowveld situated 8 kilometers fom the farm.

Once you have viewed God's Window a mere 3 kilometers further down the road the "Pinnacle" is found which is one of the most popular tourist attractions. Dotted at all these view points the local African people sell curios and other handcrafts.

Attractions a bit further away:
Found 20 kilometers from the tavern is the historic mining town of Pilgrims Rest, where guests enjoy a morning of shopping and browsing.

The Bourkes Luck pot holes are not to to be missed. See the splendor of these huge holes carved into the rock by water over time. We are the last residential stop to this scenic site, which is approximately 40 kilometers from us.

See the three Rondawels, so named because of the three rock outcrops resembling three huts, commonly referred to as Rondawels by the locals.

A further 10 kilometers away we encounter the magnificent Blyde River Canyon, which happens to be the third largest canyon in the world after the Grand Canyon in the U.S.A. and the Fish River Canyon in Namibia.

Take a day out to go trout fishing in the Dullstroom area. Here will you not only be able to catch fish, but if you are not up to it, you and your family can enjoy a wonderful trout meal that has been prepared by one of the numerousrestaurants in the area.

The Kruger National Park is not far up the road for all those who wish to experience the real power of the African bush. You can visit one the numerous game reserves for game drives and for that total bush experience.

One of the major natural beauties in the area are the breathtaking forest streams and small waterfalls. Pack a picnic basket and spend a day hiking through a forest path for a one and only experience of a life time. Many sign-posted falls are found in the vicinity between Graskop and Sabie. Numerous crystal clear pools can be enjoyed for relaxation and swimming.
