Day 1: Palapye

Departing Johannesburg we then pass through the border into Botswana. We drive on to our first overnight stop in Palapye which takes its name from the Impala antelope which were abundant in the area

Day 2, 3 & 4: Okavango Delta

Crossing the flat country of the Kalahari brings us to Maun, on the edge of the Okavango Delta. There is the option to fly, by small aircraft, over one of the world’s last great wildernesses. The waters of the Delta, born in Angola, fan out into a maze of interconnecting channels, before vanishing into the sands of the Kalahari Desert. With local polers, we venture into the Delta using dugout canoes, gliding past a vast array of animal and bird life. We spend a night wild camping on an island, far removed from civilisation and follow our guide on an early morning bush walk. This time in the Delta is a uniquely African experience. Canoeing the clear waterways, tracking wildlife and the sounds of the night under a canopy of stars, all form lasting memories. The universal appeal of the Delta is its beauty and solitude.

Day 5 & 6: Chobe Safari Lodge

From Maun, we continue to Kasane, close to Botswana's northern borders. We enter Chobe National Park which is one of the richest wildlife areas in Botswana. There is an abundance of game, in particular, herds of buffalo and elephant. We take a morning game drive seeking the animals for which this park is world-renowned.In the afternoon we take a boat cruise up river. The sight of great numbers of animals gathered on the river banks, especially in the dry season, provides a memorable experience.

Day 7: Victoria Falls

From the game rich wilderness of Chobe, Victoria Falls - Africa’s greatest spectacle - is only a short drive away. There are a few higher waterfalls elsewhere in the world, but none can equal the grandeur of the "Smoke that Thunders". The rest of the day is yours to sample a host of optional adventure activities.
